The Friends of High Salvington Mill and High Salvington Mill Trust started out with a mandate to preserve the rotting High Salvington Windmill. With growing confidence and ambition, from their first major repair, which was to replace the Crown Tree, the volunteers at the core of the Friends have embarked on a series of restoration projects in relation to the site and supporting the fraternity of Sussex windmills.
This page has a flexible definition of "project". Some of the below were completed in a day, while some took several years.
While the majority of projects undertaken over the years have been carried out entirely by volunteers, a small number, indicated with italics, have necessitated bringing in specialist contractors.
