There may have been several versions of a quiz night run by different volunteers over the years.
Fish & Chips Quiz Night
The church hall of St. Symphorians Church in Durrington was booked for an evening. Tickets were sold for teams of up to six people and their orders for a fish and chip supper taken in advance. The orders were placed with Trawlerman in Manor Parade, Salvington Road. Score sheets were circulated to each table along with pens or pencils. The quiz master presented 4-5 rounds of questions, with 8-10 questions per round. Score sheets would be passed to the next table for scoring. During the last round of questions a couple of volunteers would fetch the fish and chips from Trawlerman.
